The current trend shows that the social software market is coming up with an increasing influence of the adjacent markets that has long-term implications which favours vendors with solutions spanning over social solutions itself. Gartner has assessed 14 Vendors to show the IT Professionals to find the right choice for their needs.

The Good news is that Microsoft is the Leader in Leaders quadrant. Microsoft has focused its social efforts on its online offerings Yammer and Office 365 (through closer incorporation of Yammer with the rest of Office 365), while focusing SharePoint on related capabilities — including document management, portals and websites.
